What constitutes a healthy church? Is your church alive? Churches fall into two categories when it comes to health; they are either healthy or they are unhealthy. Pastor Ken Tilley helps us by studying the early church and focusing on developing the God centered pattern that will help us become the healthy church that the Lord wants us to be.

Today, pastor Ken Tilley examines our role in the church. Are we simply religious, learning about God, and going through the Christian routine each Sunday, only to return to the world after the service, ineffective and virtually unchanged, or are we seeking our mission as devoted followers of Jesus Christ, living in an authentic relationship with our Savior and making a Spirit-led impact on the community outside the walls of the church? Pastor encourages us to be part of what God is doing in the community, as was the case with the early Christians in the Book of Acts. The scripture for today’s sermon is Acts 1: 3-8

Jesus, in John 13:34, gives us a new commandment: to love one another as He has loved us. Pastor Ken teaches about building strong, healthy, Christ driven, loving relationships among His followers. Jesus brought a new focus, standard and outcome for our love, in this commandment. Let’s follow His example!
Pastor Ken Tilley teaches from the Bible that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. It is a gift from God, and we can honor God by taking care of our body. Teaching from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 and 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Ken urges us to develop the discipline necessary to get healthy before God; to be healthy as part of His church body, and to be more effective in our influence on others.
